I did, and it wasn't the best day as there was a front, rain, and it was cooler, but I never heard the first gobble. Any other reports?

I realize that's just a couple opinions...could it be that time that they are just satisfied with what's in front of them right now?? Is it too early for that?? It could make for a VERY interesting opening weekend if they're that henned up now..ya think???

It was wild around the house all day yesterday. I counted 15 differant birds sounding off at one time. They never shut up till almost dark. Most every place you looked there was a tom with hens. Today not a sound.

My daughter and myself went out this afternoon. We saw 4 different groups of toms and hens. A total of 7 toms and 24 hens.

The birds in these parts are very vocal. I went this morning but imagine they were on the limb with water dripping off their beaks. I would also guess they stayed on roost for a while. The sun never did pop out to dry them off this am.
I am going in the morning. It is clearing off currently.

I heard three different toms sound off about 6:15. They gobbled three or four times and that was it.

Spotted several single hens in the mid-mornin hours. Saw a single tom with a single hen around 11 am! Hmmm!

Yesterday afternoon around 6:30 P.M. I had a couple toms in the back field feeding with some hens. Heard a gobble but that was it. Drove home and saw a long beard with about 8 other turkeys (could not make a determination on sex with the drive by). Did not try to go back because I can hunt the property they were on and didn't want to spook them. Dad said he heard gobblers all around the other mornin'. I have been seeing them with hens for a while. Lets hope the weather pushes through and the opener is a solid day.

Not quite as wild as a couple days ago but they were sounding off again this morning. Only can for sure locate 5 today but still vocal at 10 am. Seen three on the roadside without hens on a trip out about 8 am.

I went out friday morning and lsitened. I found them. I guess i sat up about 75 yards from four big ole toms. That flew down in the woods in front of me at about 100 yards and stayed there and strutted and gobbled for an hour or more with a couple of hens. It was a pretty sight.

I went out scouting this morning before daylight. I heard two different toms in two different places. Both were gobbling their heads off!!! It sure got me excited about this coming weekend!
