I am planning to purchase some add'l equipment this spring. It will be used primarily for prepping mine and a few friends dove fields.
Drill or planter? If I buy a drill, then I gotta buy a seperate sprayer.
If I buy a planter and mount a sprayer then it's pretty much a one job tool...
Any (constructive;) ) input welcome. Thanks
The only reason to buy a planter is if you are going to plant corn. I have a JD 4 row NT that does an excellent job on corn, but a horrible job on beans, no matter how I adjust it. (I have the right set-up BTW)
The drill would probably be better overall, if you get one that you can drill both clover and cereal grains, and some specialty irregular sized seed which I beleive they will. If the drill won't do beans, broadcast them.
I would go with the drill. Good luck.

I'd go with the drill. Have you tried renting a drill. i know that some counties took Phase 2 tobacco money and purchased drills for people to use. i would check with the county extension agent.

Yes, before you buy anything contact your extension office. Some counties will let you use them for "FREE"!

Thanks fellas, I was headed that direction, but thought I could put together the planter project for less money-going on the cheap is usually regrettable.
Yes, I can rent a drill cheap, but there are some issues with distance and availability that made buying one a long term plus.
