I'll keep my eye out for you. My father in law runs across stuff like that all the time.

When did you move to Murray?

We've got enough Murray area people to have a pretty decent little get together just with us. :D

EDIT: These posts were moved from a classifieds thread..... interest in a get together in this area needs to be posted here. Kick around when and where you guys would like to do it.

By the way..... I'm not volunteering to head this thing up either...:D it can be a joint decision between everybody.

Quack,

A Murray get together is a great idea. Just say where & when. I would probably pick The Big Apple, just because it's centrally located, easy to find a place to park & has good food & beer.

The ball's in your court...

got a question for yall murray guys, years ago, when I was at UK and my brother was at MSU, he used to live over in Puryor (sp?) and we would hang out at a little mex joint called the Apple when i would go down there... used to consume large quantities of Killians there, as we could walk, stumble, crawl back to his house. Is it still the same place and is it still just as good? seems like we could eat like kings there for next to nothing and it was pretty good chow to boot.

pentail,

About 5 years ago, the Apple moved into Murray. The same two guys still run the place, the food is still inexpensive, & they still have cold brew. I go there petty often. It's on Arcadia Drive, just off 12th St., just north of Chestnut.

Someone post a couple of tentative dates.

Some people on this site may have to get permission slips signed by their wifes to protect the innocent

I'm in. Just out of curiosity, would anyone want to do this at LBL where we could go ride some 4 wheelers and grill out? Not everyone would have to ride they have great picnic areas there also, it just might give us something extra to do. But if not I will come anyways. HEATH

How about a Saturday afternoon, late lunch type thing at the Apple?

We can all meet, eat a bean roll, down a few beers and discuss further gatherings and go from there.

This Saturday the 8th around 2
O R
Next Saturday the 15th (tax day) same time

We'll have to get name tags so everybody knows who's who.

I too need to get a permission slip, so lets nail this down ASAP.

What do you all think?

As of right now, I'm a no-go for this Saturday and the 15th is opening day of turkey season. That may knock several out for that day.

I agree ........with turkey season .....a lot of people will be out of pocket including myself. The weekend after season would work for me unless something unsuspected comes up.

I guess I'll see you all at the Big Apple tomorrow. I won't be easy to recognize. You see, I'm 6'3", very athletic, muscular, with a strong chin, jet black hair & a piercing wit. However, tomorrow night I will be disguised as a much shorter, overweight, pale, haggard, grey-haired, middle-aged guy with 3 kids in school & a mortgage hanging over my head who mutters goofy phrases like "I heard that!" & "That's what I'm talking about!".

Looking forward to seeing you all.

I completely forgot about this.

I'm out on this one fellas, sorry. I don't imagine that I will able to talk my mother and wife into going to the Apple with a bunch of guys for their Mother's Day dinner tonight.

Rob

So, are you ashamed of us, Quack?

quackrstackr
05-13-2006, 09:56 AM
LOL, no... but I would imagine that the two women have a different idea of what a nice dinner is than beanroll and brew at the Apple. :D

I guess if you guys are still holding down a table I can swing by afterwards.

I cant make it, wife had to work and I have to watch the 3 month old and 2 year old. :( :( :(

Love the kids, but daddy is due for a bean roll and a few brews with the fellas. I just completely forgot about this till it was revived by Rob yesterday and by then it was too late.

I would have liked to made it but I was in the same deal as quacker....took my mom out to dinner for mothers day.....could'nt get out of that one. Maybe we can schedule another one some time in the near future. We probably run into each other at Wally-World and the like but dont know it. Its always nice to put a face to a user name.
