I went to Bass pro this weekend
and purchased a box of Winchester Xtended Heavy shot ammo
3 inch #4 1 3/4 ounce shot.
FOR $26.00 A BOX (that is outrageous)
but i said what the hell it's only once a year..
i bought a box for me and my partner..

i saw a box of the new federal mag-shock heavy's
3 inch #4 1 3/4 ounce shot
FOR $10 a box (thats more like it)

so since it was only 10$ i bought a box to see how it would compare to the new winchester ammo..

and i gotta say the federal mag-shoks kick ass hands down.

it had more of a kick than the winchesters but even on sloppy shots both of us still put more pellets in the kill zone with the federals than the winchesters

i dont recall what brand of shotgun he hunts with, but i use a mossberg 835

both guns did alot better with the federals..

soooo if you are still deciding i encourage you to look at the federals before you spend your money on the winchesters..

for $26 i just dont feel they are worth it..

My gun shoots just the opposite. I used to shoot federals, but after i bought my benelli with the kicks gobblin thunder choke, i switched to winchester supremes. Ill definatley never shoot federals again. The pattern those winchesters threw compared to the federals are AWESOME!

Jonboy, I just paid $30 for a box of heavyweight Federal #6's. Where'd ya find 'em for $10? I was actually kinda disappointed with the Fed. Heavyweights... tight group at 25 yards, but it went downhill FAST before it hit my 40 yard target. I also tried Win Supremes, but ended up going with the lead Federals in 3.5". They smoked the others in my 835 with a Strut Stopper choke.

Federal 3" #6, I think different guns and chokes require different shells. I had 194 shot in a standard sheet of copy paper at 30 yards.
