Maybe the whole gas price issue was the oil companies ploy to over throw Walmart, and take over the Fortune 500 list.:D

I just read that. It makes me really want to sell some stuff and buy LOTS of stock in Exxon/Mobil. It may be a risky stock in the distant future but not anytime soon.
The thing I don't get is when they talk about rising oil prices as being the reason for the great increase in profits why they don't take into account that in theory that the oil companies profits should be in line with rising cost... They have to pay more for the oil so it should all equal out, right? I think what they should really be saying is that the profits are due to rising GAS prices and has NOTHING to do with oil prices obviously.
