We had a terrible accident here Friday night. My little buddy, Littlebit, got out and away from us and got hit by a car on Kirksey rd. He was already gone when we found him. It was dark out and being a little dog, there was probably no way he could have been seen before it was too late. The driver didn't stop.
He was a great little dog, and he was definitely "my dog". He was always full of life, ready to run and play. He always met me at the door in the afternoons when i got home from work, tail wagging and excited like he hadn't seen me in ages. He was never far from me when i was at home, he had to be right there, and had a personality all his own.
I buried him under a little tree in the back yard, curled up in his dog bed with his favorite tennis ball and covered by his favorite blanket (he always liked to burrow under a blanket). He was a great dog, and he is being missed very much.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ecmbowhunter/grandmamomscamera020.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ecmbowhunter/may31memorialday2004005.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ecmbowhunter/may31memorialday2004004.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ecmbowhunter/allpicstodate031.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ecmbowhunter/themoth033.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/ecmbowhunter/themoth057.jpg

I feel for you. I would be a wreck if something happened to my buddy Bailey. He's like a son to me. Even though sometimes I want to wring his neck.

I feel your pain, man. I had a Rott for 14 years. He died last year. That is the greatest sense of loss I have ever felt. I did not truley realize how close we were until he was gone. After all these months I still miss him terribly. I have considered getting another dog, even though I have 3 at the house now, but I doubt it will be another Rott. I could never replace the bond I had with Bear. He was the greatest lap dog ever. At least he thought he was a lap dog.:D

Sorry to hear about your dog...most people dont get it anyway. Those little dogs sure have alot of personality. Get another one. I did and he keeps me laughin all the time...He's to big to do this anymore, but he REALLY likes to ride in the truck.
trust me

I'd get another dog. Sooner, rather than later. It doesn't have to be the same breed or size or anything, but a puppy can sure make your days go better.
Like Gene Hill said, "Whoever said money can't buy happiness forgot about puppies."

ecm, this is our two little dogs and would not be the same without them. they bred the first of feb. and as I type this she is having labor pains. Her name is "bitty". I would be glad to give you a male or a female to help your family with their loss. she is half fiest and half weenie dog. he is part mini pinscher and part manchester terrier. and what ever else. he has real long legs and can stand flat footed and land 4 foot on a counter. they are both loving animals and they too are blanket rooters. in and out all the time:) she's in labor and I gota fix her a spot fast!

Sorry to hear your loss emc.
Dogs are truely man's best friend.
I am so sorry for your loss. We lost both of our beloved beagles, Sweetie & Maddie, just last summer. I think about them all of the time. They sure leave a big empty space when they pass away.
Sorry to hear about your loss bro. We lost our old tom cat last year that had been around forever and was part of my family.. It was tough because it came out of nowhere(I know what you guys are thinking:D ).
I think I'm gonna have to put my lab down this year and even though me and him have never really got along it will still suck.
Hang in there and start thinking about that new best friend. Pets are like gifts many times and all we can do is enjoy them while they are here and give them the best life we can.

Man I feel your hurt, I miss having a dog very much. Since our last Boxer died my wife refuses to get close to another dog. She can't stand the hurt but I sure miss the affection you get from a good dog.

I know its hard to believe but she had all eight and s of now they are all doing fine.:) She was so big It was unreal looking. when she sat on her hind end she was so heavy that it forced her front shoulders upward and her upper chest was on the carpet. she had no trouble. second litter. she is 7 years old. last litter also.;)
Sorry about you loss. We have a Welsh Corgi that we've almost lost a couple of times, it's tough to lose a friend like that.
