After a miss in Tennessee last weekend, My son got his second chance this morning. We watched several birds leave a foodplot, heading to roost last night. We were in the blind waiting for them at daylight. Birds gobbled great this morning. We had birds in every direction. The first gobbler in the field came 10 yards from the blind, but never came to the side we were facing. The next bird in was a bearded hen, that we decided to let walk. Soon we had several hens in the field, and several gobblers hammering in the woods right behind the blind. The next gobbler in the field charged at the decoy, and proceeded to flog my mounted decoy. Micheal finally got on this bird and took the shot. The bird ran a few yards and then was down for good. We got alot of good video (except my camera man missed the shot) http://www.orba42.com/photopost/data/522/michael_in_Ky_.wmv
It was an awesome morning that I'll never forget.
The bird was 25.5 lbs. 10" beard and an 1.25" set of hooks.
