Are the snake tounge style rest any more accurate than a tm hunter style launcher.

Just wondering because I see alot of both being used for target shooting.

As a rule , the least amount of contact that you have with the arrow and the rest, the better off you will be. The lizzard tongues are a style of rest that has little contact with the arrow as it usually will rise slightly and clear the rest completely. This is provided that the bow and arrows are properly matched for spine.

This is also the reason for the newfound popularity in "fall away rests"

Sometimes though , and this is especially true with a few one cam bows that are sensitive to arrow spine. A rest that "guides the arrow," like a super star, 3 pronged "barrel style rests" or a whisker biscuit type rest are what is needed to get the bow to shoot.

Spine, Forward of center balance and shooting styles sometimes dictate what rest to use.

Some bows tune at the drop of a hat, some dont......It's what makes you appreciate archery and a good archery shop as well.

Archery is physics....the helicopter, hummingbird and bumble bee are not supposed to fly , but they do.......Ya gotta love it!!!!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
