Today while working food plots I found a nest of turkey eggs that had hatched. I know the nest was not raided because of the order the eggs were in.

Saw a hen in some tall grass, from the breast up. Could see movement in the grass behind her, extending in a line. Didn't actually see them, but I assume it was her brood.

I heard a couple of reliable reports that there were poults hatched by May 15th this year.

Well sadly we hit a turkey while cutting hay this year. We usually jump one or two, but this was jumped late, just in time for the mowing machine to cut her legs off. I felt really bad but i couldnt help it. I would put her out of her misery if i found her. There was about 8 eggs crushed with small birds about 4 inches long in them (no feathers). I found one that wasnt crushed and knowing the mom wouldnt be able to help it, I have it at home in a heating pad. Is it worth it? Will it hatch? Just wondering and its too bad this happened, but we are covered in turkeys as it is.

This spring has me nervous. Heavy rain early flooded area's that usually stay out of trap water. Also spells of rain and below normal temps( like Sunday Morning) are bad for survival of little one's. Keep your fingers crossed!

Friend of mine saw a hen last thursday in one of his mowed fields and she only had one poult. Hatch may be down this year.

A friend of mine at work told me he saw 2 hen turkeys with 21 poults yesterday afternoon.The poults were able to fly a short distance.

I spoke with one of my friends in Wayne county today and he said he saw a hen with 17 poults on his farm.[:)]

When I was at the farm today I bumped two hens and they both had poults.
