Burkesville area????

Can anyone tell me what the Burkesville area is like as far as small game hunting oppertunities and public lands?
I have a friend who trout fishes the area but he doesn't get too far off the water to tell me much about the area.
Is there lots of public lands?
Is there any propertys worth looking at? CHEAP :)
Any catfishing in that area?

Don't know much about the hunting but Burkesville is right on top of some of the best Smallmouth fishing in the country.:)

I'll be honest the hunting and fishing don't have to be the greatest, but the time spent outdoors is always the greatest.
I can go for a walk in the woods and have the greatest time of my life.

What I need is a remote setting where I can build a small cabin/house and sit on the front porch making woodcrafts and such.
My dreams of wealth money wise are long gone.
Now I have a dream of a hands on learning center, a place where young and old can learn how to start a fire by friction, to live with the land, to skin and cook, to carve, to be creative.
I don't need 100 prime acres to do this just a small piece of "nice land"
Currently I am looking at next December to purchase 5-20 acres.
No rush, just keep this in the back of your minds if you would.

There's a 600 acre tract thats public called mud camp creek wma, and theres also the dale hollow lake wma. Mud camp should be full of rabbit, but F&W wont go in and do any maintaining of the area, and they wont let anyone else do it either. If the cumberland river is up, you'll need a boat to get on the area.
As far as purchasing land, you shouldnt have a problem finding any, but thanks to the local auctioneers, you'll pay for it.
