Thinking of getting the mossberg 935 turkey gun. I cant decide between the 22" or 24" barrel. Are there any real advantages between one or the other? I cant see how 2" of barrel would really change much.

Ballistically it won't make a difference. The shorter barrel can be easier to swing w/out hitting brush, and shorter barrels are usually lighter. That can make a little difference when you're running and gunning, especially in the mountains.

A Turkey Hunting Friend of mine says that barrels 22" to 26" are the ones to use with extra full choke.

Depends mainly if your going to use the gun for other purposes beside turkeys. Short is good for some game, not so good for others.
I agree with multi. I would not want a 22 inch barrel in a goose pit, duck blind and maybe a dove field. And, I know I would not want someone with me with a shorter barrel -they are much louder.
If it is an all -everything gun, get the longer barrel.
Kinda like you said, two inches will not make a lot of difference and teh longer barrel provides more flexability

If it is going to be used strictly for turkey hunting, 22 vs 24 is a coin toss in my opinion. If you are going to hunt other game, then you likely want a 26" and play with chokes and shell selection.

Since I will also use it for a back up duck gun I think I will go with the 24".
Thanks for all the advice!!!!

24 is short for a gun that you will be swinging on birds. If it's gonna be multi purpose I'd rather have a barrel too long than too short. For turkeys only then I think the shorter the better. 26" would be the shortest I'd want for waterfowl. You'll find it much easier to swing a longer barreled gun!
