View Full Version : TCA Omega
TCA has posted a page about a new muzzleloader called the Omega that's supposed to be available in April or May of this year (acc. to someone at their factory I spoke with today). Anyone have any opinions on this design?
The address for the information about this gun is http://www.tcarms.com/mlrifles/omega/

Ross:
I could not tell much about the gun from the website so I waited until "Fowler" came back thru making his rounds. I put him under my control by opening an Ale-8 in front of him.
The Omega sounds like it may be a very popular gun. The trigger assembly drops down exposing the breech so that you can place the cap on the nipple. Once accomplished you pull the trigger assembly back up to close the breech. To cock the gun you have to pull back on the exposed hammer.
Also new this year New England Firearms is coming with a break (hinge) open muzzleloader that has a couple of modern gun caliber offerings. This is going to be the poor mans chance at having something on the order of a TC Encore.
Fowler gave 2 pounds of Hodgdons new powder Triple 7 to play with. As soon as I get the chance I will make a report as to what I find with this powder.
