Ky Telechek Turkey Harvest Report Correct??

Is some body "manually manipulating" the turkey harvest numbers on the Telechek report??[?]
Harvest report yesterday-5/05/03, showed about 26,200 birds harvested and this morning -5/06/03 showed 27,475 birds.
Does anybody believe there were 1250 birds harvested with the all the rain/major thunder storms pushing thru Kentucky yesterday and hardly no one hunting this last Monday?? What's up??[:(!]

If I wasn't done, I would have hunted yesterday. The storms weren't too bad here and it should have sent them to the fields so that you can keep track of them and see what they like to hear. I think it's very posible that 1250 could have been killed statewide.

I guess that's a near record, only surpassed by last years totals??

That would work out to ten per county, which is within the realm of possibility. I haven't looked at the figures, but I would bet a higher percentage of jakes got it yesterday as guys tried to fill both tags. 27,000 birds is a bunch. Last year we had some concerns that we may have killed too many. I'm sure we'll hear that again. I think one important thing to keep in mind is that turkeys aren't evenly distributed across the state, and we have some good habitat areas that still don't have anywhere near the numbers they could have, and I'm not talking about eastern Kentucky. There are a number of folks out there who limit themselves to one bird, or one bird per given area, which may be something to think about. We've essentially done that over the last few years, and our population continues to grow, not that it helped me any this year.[:(!]

possible yes,but with the weather we had in s. central ky pretty much all day yesterday,id say its highly unlikely.IMO, its where people havent yet checked in their bird and waited til the last minute

Checked KDFWR website "Telechek Turkey Harvest Report" this morning,
Wednesday,May 7th, 11:00 a.m..
The reported harvest number has gone up to 27,548 birds , up an additional (+) 73 birds reported since 5/06/03 report.[}:)][?]
"Turkey poachers" starting to call in their illegal harvest, also??[:(!]
