That would be fine as well....but I have always thought it would attract more hunters to LBL if they backed the quota hunts up a little earlier and gave the non-quota hunters a couple of days before state season opens.

Application fees are $5.00 per person turned in with application. Each person must turn in a application and... a group of no more than 5 hunters can turn in their applications as a group....to be drawn together. Turkey hunters are not designated a area as they are in the deer quota hunts.

If drawn you will need state license and tag plus a LBL Hunter Use Permit which I believe is still $20.00. You can buy it through any place that sales hunting and fishing license. LBL turkeys are not bonus birds and do count toward your state tag. If you camp out at LBL during your hunt....you will need to buy a Backwoods Camping Permit....off the top of my head I'm not sure of the price but I believe its discounted if you buy it in conjunction with the Hunter Use Permit. Each person camping will need one.

I believe youth (under 16)are exempt from the Hunter Use Permit and possibly the camping permit but I would advise you check with them to make sure .

What a money maker it would be for LBL if the Quota bird were a bonus. Can u imagine the application money they would get! Never figured that out myself. Got tired of suggesting that to them.

That's only if you are not camping at an actual campground.

Tennessee LBL birds are not bonus birds, but, are considered WMA birds that applies to their state (4) bird limit.

You are correct.....There are a few like Piney , Hillman Ferry are pay as you go and offer hook-ups for RV's . I would advise anyone to check the regulations out ....You can camp just about anywhere except along the Trace , Mulberry Flat Rd. and Silver Trail. Small camp areas such as Sugar Bay , Taylor Bay, Redd Hollow and the like are covered by the camping permit. Again ....check out the regs before you camp....I wouldnt want to give out bad info.
