I've never heard anyone say anything good about biologic. I have heard that if the soil is the least bit acidic, then the biologic will have a bitter taste and the deer will not touch it. Anyone else out there have any first-hand experience with it?

I have used biologic on several farms that I hunt. I have had both great and terrible luck with it. Most of the plots I've planted I was able to get a soil test and lime/fertilize it per the recomendations and the deer absolutely tore it up. One of my farms has a remote field that I couldn't get the necissary equip. in to make the PH just right. Needless to say the deer all but ignored it. Lime is the single most important ingrediant to a sucessful plot!!! I don't care whether its biologic, clover or beans the PH must be right or you're wasting your money. The only advantage I have found with biologic is it will take extremely heavy grazing-even down to the ground and still come back strong. In my opinion, buy a cheaper more conventional seed(like clover, winter wheat) and save the bulk of your money to buy the lime and fertilizer. You will be glad you did! I gaurantee it!

I planted about 1/2 acre of biologic full draw year before last and it grew great. PH was right but the deer didn't touch it til about the first part of February. Then they cleaned it up down to the bare ground. The rabbits liked it all along. When I plowed it in March the ground was covered in big ol' turnips. I assume that the full draw is turnip seed as there had never been anything planted there before. That was my first and last try with the biologic.

Tried biologic 2-years ago and austrian peas this past season.
Deer never used either one , won't raise either again.
Will stick with what works, clover, winter wheat and standing corn.
Will fertilize and nurture what they really like in late season, Honey suckle.
