I had just gotten home from rabbit hunting all day near Payneville when I decided to drive down to the Thai restaurant on Dixie Hwy. to get some food for my wife. (it is her favorite)....

It was raining steadily when I left and while pulling around the back of the parking lot to exit, WHAM! I came to an abrupt halt and I could not figure out why! I backed up a bit and still could not see what it was that I hit. Finally I could make out the outline of a concrete base and light post that was black and rusted and blended in perfectly with the rain and trees in the background. The post was in the middle of the damn parking lot. I did not see it at all.

Anyway, the front end of my 2005 F-150 4x4 is crushed to the radiator. It looks like hopefully it will just be a bumper and plastic moulding replacement but as these things go I am sure it will cost me an arm and a leg.

Knock on wood, this is the first accident I have had in 22 years of driving. I guess I am lucky but it still makes me angry.

At least the truck still runs and will get me and the kiddos out to the youth hunt in the morning.

Argh..........
At least it was just a light post I hit and nothing else.

Really sorry about your encounter.A little related to help you ease the pain...
I had just picked up a new Company Truck and on the way back to the shop I stopped for lunch and when leaving backed over a fire hydrant....Kinda tough showing the boss his new truck with the bumper pushed in and the dealer's sticker still in the window!!! Good luck though!!
