I am shooting an 870 Express with a 20" rifled barrel. I was originally going to shoot 3" sabots but I've heard that maybe the 2 3/4 would be better. What do you all think?
Thanks,

I've killed a lot of deer with 2 3/4" Rem. copper solids or the Buckhammers. Don't see any need to shot 3", because the gain isn't all that much, and they quick a lot more.

I have always hunted with 2 3/4 and had great luck. I am going to try the hornady sabot because it has a ballistic tip instead of hollow point. It should be more accurate. We will see.

I had great success with the solid coppers. This year I am trying the Hornady 300 grain sst slugs at fort knox this weekend.:D

The biggest difference I've noticed between the 2.75" and 3" is the kick. With the 2.75", I can practice with several boxes. With the 3", my shoulder can't take too many shots. I've also found the 2.75's to be much easier to find and about half the price of the 3" shell, when I can find them.
