remington 1100

does anyone know if the remington 870 and the 1100 barrells are interchangeable? someone told me they were I just wanted to know if it was true before I bought another barrell.

No they are not.

not even close. 870's are pumps and 1100's are auto's.
nothing interchanges on these barrels.

Also, 1100 and 11-87 do not interchange even though they are both semi autos. I'm not sure but I think LC (light contour) model 1100's will not interchange with standard 1100. Might also consider that 2 3/4" receivers may except a 3" barrel but the 2 3/4" receiver is not a magnum receiver and probably won't eject or load a 3" shell even with a 3" bbl. Not to mention that you can damage your gun or yourself (read "possible fatal injury") by shooting a magnum shell in a standard receiver.

Steel slinger is right. 1100 LC won't interchange with standard 1100.
