I'm far from an expert,....But I did read/hear from people that the pellitized lime isn't bank breaking and fast acting. Again, I'm far from educated enough on this to rely on. There are several forum members who I would consider "purty smart" at this stuff, and I'm sure they will reply soon!

Regular ag lime [quarry] will average six months reaction time in the soil. If you applied close to the recommended amount last fall you're just getting the effects of it now. If you were short of the ton and a half per acre go ahead and spread some more. A spreader truckload is cheaper than a big pick up load of bagged stuff.

Here in Franklin Co. Southern States will spread it for you at $15 per ton.
Thanks for the help.. i got my soil test back today. it calls for lime, lime, lime, lime, lime,,,,,,,,,,my fertilizer level is good,, but not my lime,,,,i limed one food plot last fall..but it was not enough,,, my ?????? is the plot i planted last fall, will it hurt anything to get the guarry lime and spread it over the clover????it will be white as snow,,,instead of green... i guess a rain would wash it off..if it takes 6 months to reaction time,, will it hurt the clover thats there all ready..??? thanks agian for the help......wasp

Won't hurt the clover or anything else. Yes it'll be white till a rain. I guess I was a bit misleading before. You get adjustment to the PH starting first rain after application. Just the fines [dust] reacts first but total PH change from one application is closer to six months.
Thanks Larry for all your help.......wasp
