I like to depend on an actual soil test myself, tested at UK. for $6 per test through the county agent's office.

Thx, I was just curious as to the credibility & accuracy of these. I saw it demonstrated, they just mixed the soil with water
and dipped a test strip in it. Very similar to a QA test for sanitizer. Then the strip would match colors on a bar telling your soils nutrients or lack of.

PH is a pretty simple test. That kit should be accurate enough but the cost will work out more than your county agent's test which will give you pounds per acre of NPK as well as lime to get your soil up to snuff.
