I think there are people employed by the state that will come out to your farm and make suggestions for things that will help your wildlife and suggest what to plant, how much fertilizer, lime, etc.
How would I contact them? Do they have a region they work, like a 5 county area? Is this a free service? If anybody knows, please respond. Thanks!

If your looking for a plan for wildlife habatat--start with H.I.P. thru the KYFWR. Contact your PLB for an appointment. It might be a couple of months to get to the top of the list. You can find all the information you need on the Dept. we site.
If you know what you want to do, and just want to know about lime and fert., simply take a soil test to your local farm service agency.
If your looking for other types of cost share programs, you can ask about WHIP or SIP programs while your at the F.S.A. office.

I found the name through that link, called him, and set up an appt. for 2 weeks. I'll ask him about those programs when he comes out. Thanks again!
