This gun is Imported by Springfield into the USA. I have not shot one but I work with a guy who was impressed with the gun enough to buy two of them.
"The Croatian designers of the XD looked at other firearm designs (much the same way Glock did initially) and took the best features from each. Thus, the X-treme Duty concept borrows key features from the Glock, the Colt 1911 and SIG Sauer automatic pistols. The Croats even thought up a few new wrinkles to add to the XD mix. Springfield Armory is the exzclusive importer, although the pistol was originally imported as the HS 2000 by HS America more than a year ago"

Great guns, I have an XD myself, but check out Fayette Firearms in Lexington before you buy. I usually find Gilberts VERY high on their gun prices....

Everyone that has one seems to like em. Only thing about em that leaves kind of a sour taste in my mouth is that they were cheaper before Springfield got the import contract. Same pistol, same everything, except now Springfield charges more cause they have the mystique of the Springfield name, I guess.
If you like that design grab hold of a Glock or two before you buy one, you might or might not like the Glock's feel a little better. Personally I like the Glocks but to each his own.
By the way for concealed carry I am really digging that little Kel Tec mouse gun I just picked up, you might want to look at those or the Bersas or Kahrs, too.
