I do not have any heat in my slide in truck camper.
What would you put in it for heat???
What kind of detector/fire alarm?
Thanks, Bruce

we always used a lantern...but now they have the mr.heaters for indoor use...they work super good...i would recomend the smoke/carbon monoxide combo run by batteries..to make it safer....

I was thinking a bag of Cheeto's and some porno movies !!! :D
I use one of those cigarette lighter plug in heaters/defroster. Won't keep it 80, but you can stand to be out of your sleeping bag/bed. I run the heater when returning to camp from hunting till bedtime, then turn it on when get up. I think the heater cost me $20 ? I have a dual battery set up in my vehicle and run it every couple of days to recharge the battery that feeds the heater.

The Mr. Heater is a good choice. I went fishing on Lake Cumberland in Feb. and the guide had a enclosure for his boat. It was about 20 degrees that morning and we never even got a chill with that heater. Also it is adjustable and can regulate pretty regularly. It is a good choice.

Don't use a Coleman lantern for heat, 3 people I went to high school with died in a tent that way.

My North Face clothes and North Face sleeping bag keep me plenty toasty, even in just a tent. If it ain't a little chilly, you ain't really camping. ;)

We used a small kerosene heater in our popup camper. Works really well. Kinda smelly but better than freezing.

I was thinking White Castles!
Might want to leave a window open and the camo outside so it doesn't wreak with stank!

I picked up a portable indoor propane job from Walley world at the end of the season last year for about $20. It was a good deal. Has a thermostat and a carbon monoxide shut off built in. Works great in the pop up.

Kind of an old thread .... but ... I have a 30' 5th wheel and when we go to Colorado Elk hunting we "boondock" camp. At night I dont want to run the generator (for the furnace fan) so I use 2 Coleman Black Cat heaters. Each one runs 8 hours on a 1lb propane bottle and there is almost no smell once the newness burns off.
They work really, really well.

I still think that Faith Hill is the best idea.:p

She isnt available right now .... but Jessica Simpson just came back onto the market. I think she would work just fine ..... if you could just keep her from talking she would be perfect.

I use the Little Buddy heater in my camper. Uses the small propane tanks and comes with a low oxygen sensor. Works real well. Cabelas has them $75
