Barkley State Park

FYI - this park is very nice and is typically underused, if that's a word. If you're tired of the BS at Hillman Ferry and want something more secluded but need to be in an actual campground with nice restrooms and showers for your family, check out Barkley, you won't be disappointed. I just got back and was very surprised to see that we were the only ones in the entire campground by about 4 pm, it was deserted, yet conditions were perfect. If you spend a day there I can almost guarantee that you'll see several deer.

Amy and I have stayed there several times. It's been very quiet each trip. Lot's of firewood laying around. It's a favorite of ours.

I've never stayed a the Barkley state park but I rented a boat there one time. I usually stay a Hurricane Creek. Both places were very friendly.
