I am considering buyint a Bitzenburger arrow fletcher. I have never fletched my own arrows, but I have been told that it is not difficult and it would be much more for convient for me. I don't know wheter I need to get a left, right, or straight helical. And what else do I need besides glue and my fletching.

Thanks for the help guys.

I suggest that you contact Highbow on here. He will be able to assist you. He helped me out considerably with my bow. TL

BTW, thank you Highbow for your help! I really appreciate it! :)

The Bitz, or JoJan fletchers are great, if you want to fletch for hunting arrows I suggest helical fletch, right or left is your choice. If you are using vanes, get the right glue for carbon or aluminum shafts. Straight fletch is something a lot of target shooters use and they work ok on expandable heads but you need offset or helical for fixed broadheads to fly correctly.

as a beginner i highly suggest that you take a serious look at the Arizona EZ fletcher i have used this and it works very well...i also have used numerous flecthers but i and a big fan of the Jo-Jan i had a little trouble with mine some years back they shipped me basically a new fletcher in like 3 days ...
i cant begin to add up how many 100's of arrows i have fletched
i suggest that you also get a timer (like for cooking) this way you'll always know the exact drying time i usually leave the clamps on for 30 min then start on another group however i will let the first group continue to dry for like another 30 min...
after awhile it becomes like an artist once you experiment with different colors combo's etc...now with the wraps you can make some arrows look very snazzy...at one time i even would cut 2 feathers and wold cut them in half and mix the colors to make my feathers look 2-3 colors all on one feather...gave that up thou too much to remember lol
good luck
you'll have alot of fun and wont be long your weekends will be spent fletching all your friends arrows...

I picked up the Arizona EZ fletcher a few weeks ago during the BPS sale. I have already fletched several with it. Very simply to use.

If your not using a drop away rest or a WB, I would suggest straight fletching when using plastic vanes.

The bitz is good or a model like it. Mine is some generic model (very old) gave to me by an old man who got me started. Fletching your own arrows is easy. I always preferred helix but thats up to you what ever works best.

PS. I aways shot fixed blade broadheads
