Anybody use one? After hearing good things about them, I bout one for $28 and tried it out yesterday. Shooting from 25yds, I buried 3 of my 5 arrows in the target past the fletching. I had to pull them out the other side and ruined one of the fletch jobs. Surprisingly, the blazers on the other 2 arrows held up. Just a little wrinkly. I don't know if I got a bad target or what, but I don't think I'm launching anymore arrows at it. I was shooting fieldpoints and tried both the fieldpoint sides and the broadhead sides with the same results.

Ateup, I have been experiencing the same problem and I am only shooting with field tips. The broadheads go straight through. I suppose we will just have to fork out more money and buy a sturdier target.

Well, I've yet to find the "perfect target". I have bought many over the years and none has lived up to their touted potential. Most usually fray out while using broadheads. I have never had any problems with fieldpoints before now. I was hoping to get 2 targets in one and ended up with a new end table for the basement.:D

I have had one of those Wally World blocks for two years... I use it along with my 3-D target in the back yard... so far I have had no problems with mine other than it is sometimes hard to get the broadheads out.

Frankly the broadhead part sucks in my opinion.
The feild tip is ok what I found is 1 bad spot on 1 circle basically not enough friction there and the arrow can go clear through. So it seems there are some quality control issues.

I'm also a fan of the Block. I probably dropped 5000 arrows (both field points and broadheads) in my old Block before retiring it after 3-4 years. I probably shot 200 broadheaded arrows at the target, and they definitely shaved off pieces of the foam insert, but, at most, the foam damage was only 2" deep (the whole target is about 18" deep). Interestingly, it wasn't the foam center that eventually gave out, it was the black plastic wrapped around it. After several years of intermittent exposure to the elements, the plastic wrapping started to fray, and I was forced to buy a new one.

I shoot the American Whitetail cube series. I am friends with the owner and he is a stand up guy. The targets are made right up in Indiana. I have the older line of his targets and they have held up well. I haven't had a need to shoot the new line, because the older ones are still good. Arrow removal on the older ones was a little tough, but i believe he has addressed that issue on the new line. Great stopping power.

Walmarts in Louisville have their cube target on sale for $15. Maybe it's worth that for something??

I'm gonna take it back and exchange it for another. Maybe the Taiwanese kids who put it together forgot to put in some of the foam layers that day.:D Anybody that has had good luck shooting them, were you using the Axis arrows? I didn't think they were touting better penetration on targets!:D

I bought the Black Hole target about a year ago and it is still going strong and I usually try too shoot a little every afternoon. It holds up very well. I had a cube of some kind from wal mart and it was terrible. Could not hardly get carbon arrows out.

I bought one of those Wal-Mart ones last summer, and by late fall I was shooting straight through it with any arrow or tip I sent down-range. This summer my wife bought me one of those "Magic Stop" blocks and it has taken better than 500 shots with no real damage. The worst damage it's taken so far is from the cat using it as a scratching post, and that's just little "picked" places in the foam layers. :D
Every arrow with field tips penetrates a few inches and does no damage to the block. Broadheads go half as deep, come out easy, and make little cuts, but are barely visible. I don't shoot broadheads at it too often, so hopefully it will hold out for several years!

Have been shooting my Wal-Mart block for 2 years, last year with my PSE and now this year with my Switchback and the Easton Axis. Have never had a pass through and haven't even got close to the fletchings.

Went out today and decided to fix up my Wal-Mart block. Took a staple gun and some old feed mill bags and re-covered the entire target, used a stencil and repainted the circles. Then took a ratchet strap and compressed the layers back together. Good as new for next to nothing.

Wish I'd read this post sooner! Bought a Wally-World block about two weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to use it until this evening. Put six arrows into it, all sank about half way up the shaft. They're still there!!!!! I've had targets that required quite a bit of effort to remove the arrows, but this one takes the cake!!!!! Shooting through the target is not a problem, but getting the arrows out is! Must be getting weak in my old age.

Tried mine out yesterday, put about 30 shots in it and yes all went about half way through. Mine were not too bad getting out. I looked at other cubes at Dicks, but they looked as wimpy and were smaller. I like the wally world one for now so mine is a keeper.
Picked up a few extra arrows at Dicks pretty good sale going on....:D

I've been using the Wal-Mart cube for about 2 weeks, probably several hundred shots in it now. At first it was very hard to get the arrows out - field points. Now, it's loosened up considerably, and the arrows are coming out much easier. The broadhead sides are holding up too. A little chewed up, but still OK. BHs bury about 2/3s of the way up the shaft. Definitely boogers to get out.

For years we only used a roll bale of hay with a clorox jug used for a target,we drove a tobacco stick thru the jug into the roll of hay. It would last several 100 hits. The good thing about that you had more room to catch you arrow if you missed the jug, and your arrows made a distinct sound hitting the jug, and you knew when you hit it even at 50 or 60 yrds. the arrows never went in more then 3-4 inches, and were real easy to pull out. I have recently been using a 3-D target. It works fine, but i still would rather use a bale of hay. Also the jug is roughly the same size of the vitals of a normal deer.
