Measuring Length of Pull

I know how to measure a rifles length of pull, but is there some way to measure a person and tell what length of pull would most likely fit them?

The old technique of measuring from the inside of the elbow to the pad of the trigger finger is quick and dirty, but there are better ways. Generally, length of pull is much more important on a shotgun than a rifle.
