What can I say...I'm a bit confused about some things, and figured this would be a good place to get answers.
I was able to buy some land of my own this year, and have been planning on hunting there only this year. I know that I don't have to purchase tags/licenses for most things, but still have a question with the dove season only 2 weeks away:
1 - I WILL need a migratory bird permit, right?
2 - Do I need to purchase a waterfowl permit to hunt on my own land? I'm not quite clear on that, as the guide says one must have a permit, but that comes immediately after the part about residents hunting their own land NOT needing one.
3 - Also, I'm hunting in Hopkins county, but live in Jefferson. A neighbor of mine has 15 acres across the street, and has already offered to let me get rid of her coyotes. Haven't made it over there yet, but I'm also going to see if she'll allow me to bow hunt, as there is a rather large buck running around that area (my boss at work has seen it close up, and says it's easily 160 class). If she DOES allow me to hunt, I will (of course) get the necessary permits/tags/etc. But, since Jefferson is a Zone 1 county, and Hopkins is Zone 2, will I be limited to the 4 deer?
The guide only mention hunting in Zones 2,3, and 4 having a four deer limit combined. It says nothing about hunting Zone 1, then hunting the other areas. (Hey, I'm not greedy, but I am almost out of meat from last year. Does fill the freezer just fine, and the more meat, the less $$ I spend at the grocery).
Thanks in advance.
