Ok guys, heres the deal. I'm not trying to push anything on anyone here, just want to make you guys aware of something going on. Here is a link to a website design to provide "helmet upgrades" to our troops in Iraq:

www.operationhelmet.org (http://www.operationhelmet.org)

The website is a little confusing so I will try and break it down for you. I have worn the helmets that are general issue to our troops before, and I'm sure a few others on this site have also. The helmets the troops have contain a nylon "web" that sits on there head. There is NO padding between the nylon web and the kevlar helmet, so when a soldier takes a nasty fall after an explosion and hits his head, it is the helmet that is causing the most serious injury. The numbers say that more troops are dying from the roadside bombings than by bullets, and this is the main reason. Our goverment agrees that this is a necessary upgrade but doesn't have the funds to do it. The website above is providing troops with an upgrade kit for their helmets at cost.

These things cost $99.06 apiece. That may seem like a lot but for someone's life it is a small price. I am sending one to my fiance's brother who leaves for Iraq next week. You can donate to a certain person, or to the cause as a whole. Every cent you donate goes to a soldier, there are no salaries being paid here.

If you can't thats ok, but tell someone you think might be able to. If you can, please help.

Its time for everybody who says that they support our troops to put their money where their mouths are.:D
