Does anyone know where the dove field is in Richardsville? I drove out there today following the directions in the dove hunting guide but saw no sign of it.

Please post when you find out something. I am without a dove spot this year and really enjoy shooting at them. I emphasize the fact that I shoot at them. Heck, we could meet somewhere and make the afternoon of it.:)

I know where it is...but I assume you mean a KDFWR field?
If not just roll on up to Garvin's I'm sure there's room for one more.

I hope you all have better luck on the public dove fields than I have had. Me and the boys have hunted the last 3 years on public dove fields in Logan, Edmonson, and one out between Mamouth cave and BG, we have taken about 20 doves in three years hunting two to three trips each year, not even shooting a box of shells. I think I'll pass on them this year.

Yeah, it's a KDFWR field. I've looked high and low but can't find it. It must be off the road a ways. I've had pretty good luck on some of the KDFWR fields, especially the one they had in Logan county. That was a great field if you hit it at the right time. I went down on a weekday once and got my first limit way before sunset. My shooting was really on that day {it hasn't been since though}!!!!!! It's strange that when you have a day when you can't seem to miss a shot , your usual hunting partners aren't there with you!I was even making doubles that day! The field in Edmonson county last year was a big let down, cut way to early

Me and my dad went during the week toward the end of the season to the one in logan co one year. It was just me and him and a guy on tractor picking up the round bales that were in the field. The tractor would go to one end of the field and scare the doves back to our end of the field. At times we had to jump them up like quail. My experience has been that they are hit hard the first week (usually by shirtless knuckleheads) and then left alone the later in the season.
The field at Barren River Lake usually is a bust too. I just don't think that there are that many doves in that area. Knuckleheads seem to frequent those fields as well.

I'll check out that Richardsville field closer to the opener unless one of you all posts sooner about it. Keep us informed about the pay hunts too. I don't mind shelling out 10-20 bucks for a good shoot.

The dove field in Richardsville is about 1.5 miles down Therkel Ferry Rd. It's on the left.
