Finally got my rifle finished and returned from Precision Barrel work in Texas. .270 WSM Hart barrel on a Browning A-bolt Medallion action. Put it on a Boyd's JRS Lam stock. Having a custom Walnut stock made for it. The wood is drying ( has about 2 years left to dry ) can't wait! The JRS stock was unfinished, my uncle finished it and is also making me the Walnut stock. He specializes in Encore's and may be taking orders soon!

The walnut on the Encore was cut off of our farm. Would Take 2 people to get arms around it. The biggest walnut I have ever seen. Would not have cut it but was afraid it was gonna fall on the neighbors house.

the burl would make a nice 2" coffee table top..............to cure; use salt brine with egg white to seal both sides.......put in non sunny area with good air flow and let sit for two years to cure.......sand and add legs..........ez

Oh yea, topped off with a Burris 4.5 X 14. Shot it today and man was I impressed. 3,378 fps was the fastest time with the factory 130 grain loads. Shot sub moa and could do better (Hotter than H) out there today! Can't wait to make some loads to test for this baby!

In the last pic, does anybody else see 2 profiles of a head 1 inside of the either - that is cool
Great gun Cobb.
The heads in the stump look likr a profile of a monkey.
