Just bought a trophy ridge drop zone for my wifes bow, but it will not fit. The bar that comes back from the bow with the cable guide on it is so low that the top of the rest is hitting it. Just bought this Sunday at Basspro in Cincy but since its a hour and twenty minute drive back up there I am going to see if my local bow shop will take it back instead and just buy another one there. Any suggestions on a rest?

Whisker Biscuit is the only way to go for her. I would recommend highly. I had a drop away rest, it was ok for 3-d but I'm much happier in the woods with my WB.

OK, I've said it before and I'll say it again knowing I am in the small minority...
What if I sold you a rest that wrinkled your vanes, You could not shoot well with a hard helical fletch, was noisy and undependable in freezing rain and slowed down your arrow. Would you LOVE that rest?
Well, that's exactly what most people say about the Whisker Bisquit yet people think it's the greatest thing since popped corn simply because it contains your arrow.
Well, there are a lot if rests out there that contain your arrow but you don't see people gushing over them. It's HYPE! Nothing wrong with the Whisker Bisquit, I just think there are much better options.
The problem with drop aways is that most of them do not contain your arrow completely but there are a few that do.
Personally, I like the Golden Key Mirage because you can turn your bow completly on it's side and when you draw the arrow drops neatly back into position. Take a look at it.

I know I'll get flamed for this post by all you Whisker Bisquit lovers so fire away!

I'm kinda inbetween on fall-aways and a biskit, I have a biskit and love it but it does piss me off when I shoot new arrows through it and my vanes come out wrinkled on the other hand I like the fact that my arrows not gonna fall out of it,
I have found out though that if you get the alum. replacement biskit and shoot carbons through it that it doesn't affect your fletching near as much but you have to raise your rest up to comp. for the extra clearance the alum. biskit gives you.

I have been using a Trophy Taker fall away for the last couple of years and have no complaints. There is a better chance that your arrow will fall off of most of the fall aways than with the biscuit so it is mainly what your are happy with.

I agree with COJOMAY! I used a Whisker Biscuit for a while. I as well as others ( ie. bow smiths) could not get my arrows to stabalize properly off of the Whisker Biscuit. It distroyed my vanes and drastically slowed my arrow flight. This being said if you use short small vanes or feathers and donot care about getting max arrow speed out of your bow there is no problems, just pluses with the Biscuits. They are great for new shooters who may lack the control to keep the arrow on a less stablizing rest. I do however feel there are many other rest on the market today which will accomplish the same end without the negitatively effecting arrow flight and speed. Just my spin. Keep them flying straight, and practice practice!

This is her 3rd year shooting her bow, when we bought it new we actually did buy a whisker biscuit for it and it worked great for her as far as keeping the arrows on the rest. But when we shoot around 4 times a week the fletchings were always a mess plus shes only pulling 50 pounds so we wanted to try to pick up some speed anywhere we could. So we bought A bodoodle hp 300, holds the arrows like a whisker but didnt wrinkle the fletchings, but this rest made a lot of noise even put moleskin or felt on it and it still made noise. I have a dropzone hunter and love it arrows stay on no problem, it just wont work with her bow. Now it looks like I am going to have to take it back to Basspro because I called my bow shop and another store close buy and both carry the rest for the same price as basspro but neither will take since I did not buy it there, one store did tell me they would take it but could not give me full price for it. That would have been a good way to score some good brownie points with me and gain some buisness from me.
If you could have gotten the rest from your local pro shop for the same price why not just get it there and do both of you a favor?

Because I was already at basspro and you also get reward points for your purchases there, which from previous purchases I had accumalated $47.00 of free stuff.

check out the VBG cazaway(spelling). It's pricey, but quiet, completely holds your arrow and is a drop away. I'm a little leary of the moving pieces and will stick with my WB. I have witnessed bows only lose about 3 or 4 fps with the WB, and no longer have a problem with wrinkled fltetches since switching to blazers. Also never experienced any problem with it freezing, but if it does happen then an occasional flick of the finger would free it up of any ice. I can only imagine if the whiskers on a WB will freeze then so will the mechanism on the drop aways. Anybody ever had a gun freeze up? I have.........

I am having excellent results with the NAP 360 Quick tune rest. Retains the arrow in any position and does not hit or impare the fletching if properly tuned. Price is comparable to WB. Completely tunable in every direction including arrow shaft clearance. Good shooting, Dennis

My wife went shopping on her own Sunday and ended up getting the quick tune 2000 drop away rest. We put it on Monday night and also a new trophy ridge nitro sight, we had her sighted in, in about 10 minutes and so far she and we are liking the new sight and rest.

Well, I'm probably gonna get lit up over this, so here goes. I never have liked the WB's and shoot w/a lot of guys that like 'em and same for the drop aways (Murphy's Law and too many moving "pieces parts" don't mix well). I don't try to sell someone on the wares that I like, it's just a matter of preference. I shoot one of the tried and true Bo-Doodle rests. It contains the arrow like the WB and will even hold the arrow if upside down. It doesn't strike the vanes, henceforth, no wavy fletching and has no visible impact on arrow speed. I have had this rest on a High Country, AR and about two weeks ago put it on a new Bowtech Justice VFT, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Unlike the WB, it is a noisy rest due to the four metal fingers but a quick application of mole hair on the fingers cures that. Good rest and if you like the looks of it there still out there.

i bought a golden key fall away, not very expensive 40 - 50 bucks and it has worked fine. it comes with an accesory that keeps your arrow in place when not drawn. i did have a wb b4 the fall away and i still like it but i shoot alot of target and competion during the summer and when fatigued your follow through goes to crap and the fall away eliminates most of the problems you have durring follow through

I just put a muzzy zero effect on my bow this weekend. I've been debating on getting one of these for awhile. The only regret I have is that I wish I bought one earlier. My groups tighted up big time. They are expensive but in my opinion well worth it.

Here's one that is catching on in my area. I have it on my bow AND LOVE IT! It's a bit pricey, but worth every penny IMO. The only thing is I (and the shop I go to) do not like how it attaches witht the little clamp. They served it directly into the string and it works AWSOME! Complete containment, complete clearance and as quick and stealthy as it comes.

I've used the NAP Quicktune 4000 since it came out and have had great luck with it.....The prongs are deep enough (much better than most) to provide plenty of containment; there is even a rubber piece that fits just in front of the rest that also helps to contain the arrow.

I tried the Whisker Biscuit.... for about 10 minutes! :) I've still got a couple of arrows that need refletching if anybody wants them...
I've been using a Bodoodle Zapper ever since and love it. Yes, there is a little noise from the guides making contact all the way down the shaft, but since I made the switch to carbon arrows from aluminum, it is quiet enough to not spook the deer too much. I've missed before, but I've been able to drop in a second shot without the deer noticing the first one ever went by him.

tightlines: I hope you have better luck with the ultra rest than I did. I gave $90.00 for mine Shot it on one 3-d shoot and sold it for $40.00 ( it did not fall fast enough on my bowtech tomkat the vanes hit it ) after the shoot I had 2 arrows that needed fixing. Right now I'm trying a trophy taker fall away and if I don't like I will go back to the biscuit which I love to hunt with.:)
