We went there when we used to live in Louisville. I thought it was a beautiful place.

Yes, it borders Ft. Knox on one side and the river on another. It would make a deluxe park/resort/hunting area combo. Host should take it and give it to F & W to manage. It would make a great multi-use area.

I'm touched that you are worried about me. I've been busy in West Virginia, Frankfort, Nashville, Hazard, etc etc.

Looks like this would be a win-win type swap for both Kentucky and Jefferson County. Obviously the county has no business trying to operate a park 30 miles away and there is really no reason for the state to own and operate an urban park in Jefferson County. I think there are cabins and a lodge/dining room at Otter Creek. If the Parks Department did agree to the swap, I doubt that they would participate in an arrangement that would allow any hunting. Also, I doubt that the state would take on the property with the intent of not operating a resort type facility in order to make some financial return. Someone with an open mind in the Parks Department could expand hunting opportunities there and perhaps at other state parks by allowing some hunting and probably increasing their fall and winter occupancy. They could even explore some special winter hunting seasons in the parks to avoid conflict with people who want to be there for other reasons in the fall. Obviously bow, muzzleloader and shotgun hunts would present very little problem in regard to safety issues.
