Never tried it that way, but it sounds good, fried taters and eggs work well with about anything!

Try throwing your squirrels (cut up) in a big pot, cover with water and slow cook until they are they are tender (falling off bone). Dip them out, add a couple of teaspoons of corn starch to thicken the broth and make a whit gravey (about the same as you would make over new potatos), return the pieces of meat, simmer a few. Serve over hot cornbread split in half.

GSPs recipe is great...I have done that a few times and love it....makes me want to go squirrel hunting! Also, I have thrown in scraps of rabbit and squirrel and made stew...just like I would with venison....a little french onion soup, loads of veggies, and a crock pot. Hard to mess up stew. I have even browned the squirrel in a skillet with mushrooms/onions/butter prior to putting it in stew.....its great...it all works and its all good. Let me know when its ready. :D

THANKS Guys,,, Those all sound great.

I had thought about the French Onion soup mix, but was not sure how that would go. It is pretty strong. I also thought about using a Alfedo sauce mix.

I tried the fried, then make the gravy in the pan deal this AM for breakfast. I browned Onions and whole Garlic cloves in the Fried Potatoes and had the Eggs over easy. It was great.

I'm doing the Stew deal next week.

THANKS,,,,,
