Saw a recent article in Ky Living magazine about sauger fishing below the dams on the Ohio. Anybody got any good stories to tell? My friend and I are considering a trip up that way. Maybe soon.

Multi, I guess the dam there near Louisville.
ez, I've tried ice fishing in Nebraska a few years ago and had a blast, but I was looking for a drive up and come home the same day kinda trip. Don't wanna drive trhu Ohio again soon as I just did it last week.

You can catch them there from the Indiana bank, fishing with a Ky. License. If you decide to go in a boat, BE CAREFUL. It's a dangerous thing and very shallow unless you know the channel. Very easy to screw up.
Lots of hang ups from the bank. Take plenty of jigs.

I usually fish the cannelton or newburg dams, I have had good luck in the past, but thisa year has been kinda slow. There is good crappie fishing at the newburg dam right now too. My cousin has been fishing bushes along the edge of the river and has been wearing-out the crappie down there.

haven't been able to go for a few year, been overseas. but my old man has been tearing em up at newburgh... crappie too. you can fish right off the rocks, or if the water is up, off the dam.
