Hey Hog Hunters! Went down to Big South Fork this weekend, and what a weenie! Rangers did not have any info as to where to hunt, what was legal land and their state maps at visitor center were not very helpful at all. The Rangers admitted there were more hunters than hogs. Four of us seen not even one sign of a hog. Not even in the back of a truck!!!! We spent four hours driving around looking for a certain place that was suggested and never found it.[V] Very frustrating and will be a one time hunt for as long as I am concerned. Hope others have better luck. Happy Hunting

Bowhunted for hogs there in Jan. a few years back. Believe it was Peters Mtn. None of us saw any hogs. Saw a couple spots that were rooted up a little, guess that could've been hogs but found no tracks to confirm it. I know some folks down that way who say there are hogs in BSF, but not many anymore, & getting fewer every year.

A friend of mine killed one in the Rock Creek area a few years back. He was actually deer hunting and happened upon a hog. Another friend claims to have seen hog tracks in the same area while trout fishing but didn't see any hogs. Anybody want to try hog hunting Rock Creek on monday or tuesday of next week? Holler at me.

The hogs are 95% in the TN sections of the area. Not many at all around Peter's or Parker's Mt. anymore. Now F&W is going to open it up year round again. First thing is-- the deer will disappear, then the turkeys will start going downhill. Poachers are licking their chops now!

makes alot of sense to me, ralph. its just like our dept to open hog hunting year round when the hogs are gone. how do these morons come up with these decisions?

Last I heard this one came from Gassett. I could be wrong, but thought I read that in a post. I think it's a damn stupid move, but they will do what they want. Won't be long before someone will be eating elk down there. Remember I said that.

Ralph I don't doubt it. You've been prophetic on several items here lately.
I hear tell there are some stalkable rocks down there in Big South Fork[;)] Just not many Hawgs.

Yeah, Headhunter, we could have saved Jason a lot of tense moments if we had a pair of binoculars out[:D] He was prety tense til we figured out it was a rock layed up under that ledge[:I] Never did see a hog, did we?? And, boys, we were hunting with locals that knew the area & WANTED us to see some hogs[:p] F&W can say what they want, the hogs just ain't there now. HeadHunter, when you go down in April, you loook real good. You see one, you can shoot it now & we can have one Helluva time at the cabin[:D][:p][;)] Call me before you start cookin' it![:o)]

Ralph, do hogs like box calls or slate calls better? Maybe I'll just yell "SSSOOOOOOOOEEEYY!!!"
Yeah, a fat little piglet would be cause to break out the Rebel Yell & Busch Light. Bring extra ketchup for NS, & two extra cases of Coors.
Jason looked like Chuck Adams sneakin' up on that rock. Wind was right & it never saw him.
