Just a quick note to pass along how much I enjoyed this weekend. In all the hubbub over xbows, it was great to see us working together on everything from the tailwaters of the Cumberland to youth elk hunts, commercial fishing on Nolin and managing Ballard for ducks.

The bottom line--we agree on much, much more than we disagree about, and we are effective and we can get things done even in the midst of an uproar.

For those of you expecting a firestorm, I'm glad you're disappointed.

Me too, also. I was impressed that it wasn't brought up.

Although he didn't mention the fact, Sky was the Moderator for much of the business portion of the meeting & did an excellent job while maintaining decorum, occasionally fending off adversity, & always with a sense of humor. Thanks, Sky! Your talents are much appreciated.

I agree. Great job to Sky and all the others that ran the show. Very professional.

A special thanks to Ronnie Wells and all he does for the LKS.

The 3rd District crew is already hard at it planning some great fun in Louisville next June. We have a bunch of events and facilities that are great family fun, so this is definitely one to consider bring the family.

For example, the Frazier Arms Museum, the Louisville Slugger Museum and the Louisville Science Center are within two blocks of each other, and all three are really kid-friendly. If the Louisville Bats are in town, we have Triple-A pro ball in a really neat stadium right on the river. There's also the Louisville Zoo, Churchill Downs, the Derby Museum, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and the Belle of Louisville Steamboat, to name a few. We're working on getting reduced or altogether excused admission on a number of these things.

We also have Fourth Street Live, complete with a Hard Rock Cafe, which is fun from lunchtime to just about breakfast.

So while we're droning through resolutions, our families can be at the Oval Ofiice (the race track) paying for the trip!

I still owe you for one from earlier this year. Remember the nomination in front of all those people I didn't know and when they asked me to tell a little bit about you................. Hell, I barely knew you, but by the time I was done, you were 7' tall and a war hero.......... :D

They still didn't buy it. Maybe next year.
