Anybody catch the first episode on TNT yet.......... I'm not to impressed, too many historical inaccuracies. I don't mind a fictional story line, but you would think they could at least get the equipment and dress correct. I think the only movie that went to that length to get it right down to the chuck wagon was Lonesome Dove.

Skindog I'll give you that one too. A guy I was shooting ML's at the time was an extra in that movie. Had a beautiful gun, didn't shoot too bad either. He was in a couple of scenes.

I'm with you guys. I own just about every western ther is and I had high hopes for it but it sure ain't no Lonesome Dove. I hope it gets better as time goes by. I'll have to say Open Range is my favorite. Then Silverado, Tombstone, then any John Wayne or James Stewart movie.

open range is good! Tombstone is just pure entertainment! Probably my favorite movie of all time! Not all that historically correct, but sure nuff entertaining! I don't know for sure if Doc. Holiday was really that witty in real life, but Val Kilmer played an awesome character - realistic or not!

Well I guess they all can't be Blazin' Saddles.........

But I'm like Gobblergetter, Last of the Mohicans, the Patriot, Jerimah Johnson, Lonesome Dove, any John Wayne movie. I also like the Mountain Men, with Brian Keith, I believe it was loosely patterned after Hugh Glass who was left in the wilderness to die by Jim Bridger and another MM after being mauled by a Grizzly.

Anyone remember an old movie about Roger's Rangers and the French and Indian Wars? Was it Drums along the Mohawk or maybe I'm thinking of another title..........
