I'm researching a business.

Gatti-Land is a Chucky Cheese like family arcade and pizza place. There are a few in Lexington, Lousville, and elsewhere that I don't know about. How many people on this forum have taken there kids to one of these places, and whats your opinion of it?

I think it's called Gatti Town, or at least it was. I believe formerly Mr. Gattis.
It's about what you'd expect. It's like a giant playground that serves so-so pizza. As you can imagine, it's noisey, dirty, and crowded, which most kids just love. Other than to take kids there, I see no reason to really go there. I have no kids, so I have only been once.

Many times. Good for parties for little kids, say baseball team parties or a birthday party for young kids. The money a kid invests in games yield cheap worthless prizes, but the kids love it.

Tim Wilson is a comedian that frequently is on the Bob & Tom show, and he does a comedy song called "Chuckie Cheese Hell"...since we're on this subject, if any of you all are comedy fans, this is classic and explains my feelings on these type of establishments also.

Not really "across" from Lexington Green, but about a 1/4 mile away on the opposite side heading towards downtown.. Right next to K-mart and behind Red Lobster.

BTW- Tim Wilson is at Comedy Off Broadway in Lexington Green tonight and tomorrow night.

I ate at Chucky Cheese years ago, and only one left in Louisville to my knowledge, but occasionally we hit the Gatti Land. I was at C.C once in the past 2 years and I think it was overall cleaner, but it wasn't quite as large either, but that is just the one here. We have a regular Mr. Gatti's by the house, but it is a hot mess 99% of the time.

It is as others have said, a great place to take kids. Tons of stuff to do for them, and I get all you can eat pizza! Win Win Situation there!

Still called Mr. Gatti's in Murray.

Your observation of the place nails the one here.

My wife likes their pizza....... why, I have no idea. I can get pizza out of the freezer section at the grocery that is better.

The place does a large lunch business and a large dinner business as well. Mainly because of the party and kid aspect and also the all day buffet I suspect.

our Gattiland is poorly managed and staffed almost entirely by high-schoolers with no respect. Chuck-E-Cheese is a much better place for a party imho, and their pizza and salad bar are also much better.

I have had only one experience with Gatti Land and it was not a good one. However, I can't blame it entirely on Gatti.

When we were living in Louisville, my wife had the bright idea to have my 12 yr old son's birthday at Gatti Land. She printed up the invitations, which were supposed to say that the party would last from 11:30 until 1:00.

My wife has Adult Attention Deficit Disorder in the worst way. The invitations she made up actually said that the party would last from 11:00 until 1:30! Big difference!!!

All the kids started getting there at about 10:50. Some brought their siblings, who had not been invited. My wife said all were welcome, even tho' you pay by the head. The kids hit the buffet like a pack of wolves. In 10 minutes, they are all full of pizza! We still have 2 1/2 hours to entertain their little bratty butts. So, my wife says to the waitress, "Bring in the cake". We had originally planned to eat the cake at Noon. The kids barely looked at the cake & handed our boy his "presents", every one of which was a cheap cap with "UK" on the front. By 11:15, we were done with cake & presents. As part of the deal, the kids each got 2 game tokens. Additional tokens were $1 or $2 each. By 11:20, the kids had all run thru their game tokens & were coming to my wife for more money. She starts handing each of them $10 bills, which dont last very long, as you might expect.

For the next 2 hrs, she bankrolled 2 dozen brats to play exorbitantly priced video games. At this point in time, I was working 70 hrs a week, making in the low $20Ks, she was unemployed & our house payment was $254/month. To make a sad story shorter, we spent over $450 for a crappy little birthday party entertaining a bunch of ungrateful brats none of which my kid would even know the name of today. I was so pissed at her, I was seriously considering divorce, she was crying, & most of the "guests" were complaining that the games were all "lame".

Of course, I grew up way out in the country, on a little farm. I could have entertained every boy in my neighborhood all afternoon long with a $1 Playboy magazine & a pack of Pall Mall cigarettes, we would have had more fun, & there would have been nary a complaint voiced.

I'm still not over it and it's been 10 years. So, I can't say much good about Gatti Land other than to say I wish I had stock in the place...

What a nightmare Rob. You'll probably never forget that one. The Chuck E Cheese here in Luavul actually serves beer. One beer limit per visit! Like people would be getting wasted on 2 beers.

If all goes well I will be partial owner of one, so your story, though sad, would benefit me.:D
