Anybody been watching The Contender?

Undercard "Fan Favorites" fights started at noon live on Yahoo.

The finale is tonight.

Next one starts and 3 PM eastern... had a lunch meeting for the first half of the last one and have to go back to work now..:mad:

Guess I'll get the abridged version on the TV show tonight.

Watched every episode........

Tonight was Good, although me, and most everyone I know had the finale picked wrong.........I thought Manfredo would put a whoopin on Sergio.

Glad to see Gomez get the credit he deserved tonight, I've always said he was the one to watch..... A true brawler.

I'd expect to see more from Sergio,....He proved himself a fighter tonight.

I can't believe Manfredo stayed up. He was out on his feet at the end.

IMO, Peter shouldn't even have been in that fight. They should have known beforehand that people may get hurt or have to drop out and had a plan for that... other than bringing people back that had already been beaten.

That was one heck of a brawl last night.

I really thought Manfredo would go down too. Did you guys see the Ishe vs. Anthony fight? I dont know what Anthony was doing but he was acting crazy. Pulling off some of those wrestling moves. What happened with Sergio and the people in Manfredo's corner? I couldnt really tell on the video.

I think Sergio always talked smack to his opponents during his fights, part of his strategy psychologically, so he's not above it. I could tell by reading his lips a few times when they were head to head he was saying some pretty nasty things to Peter.

From what I gathered in the commentary before and after he turned and did that though, Peter's corner (more specifically his dad and family) were screaming (I assume probably derogatory stuff toward Sergio given what he did in return). Sergio just about got his block knocked off by getting preoccupied with it though.

I don't think he really took too kindly to getting hammered about a second and a half after the bell by Peter either... what the heck was he thinking? I guess that may have been from the smack talk, I dunno.

I was just waiting for Anthony to bite Ishe's ear off during that fight... :D

I liked Anthony originally but that fight yesterday showed his true colors I suppose.

Kinda disappointed in Manfrado. I thought he was a better fighter than that. He could barely stand in the end. Sergio talks a little to much trash for my liking though.

I am a huge boxing fan, the only real sport in my opinion, and I loved this show it was great. I have bought pay per view fights that were not as good as most of the ones that I saw on the Contender. I had picked Sergio and Gomez in the finale but I thought the Manfredo/Mora fight was excellent.

Gomez, I'd agree with. I never saw Sergio as a threat. He impressed me. For Gomez to fight Brinkley like he did, and Whip him. That proves what I thought all along, He was the toughest guy on there.
