PEABODY WMA

Could someone tell me why some people have keys to closed
and locked gates on this WMA? They have no ties with Fish&wildlife
or Peabody.

Lots of possibilities. Several WMAs have permanent easements allowing previous owners or neighbors to go through them; KY River WMA, Kleber, Peabody, and many others. It's fairly common. If you have a specific question about a location, contact KDFWR's Don Walker @ 1-800-858-1549.

DC, these people are hunting. There are signs at the gates
saying "foot travel only beyond this point" but they open
the gates drive through lock them back and drive where they
want to hunt. I will contact Mr. Walker.

I think I know the siutation. A private landowner has a cabin back this Peabody road. The dept. had to provide a gate key so they could get to it. They are NOT supposed to be stopping or parking along the road. They are to drive to their property, get the vehicle off the WMA and then they can hunt just like anyone else.
