I'll probably be hunting yotes this weekend. I plan on hunting the fields and hoping they come, but still cant be confident. This will be my first time hunting for yotes only. Can anyone give me any tips?? Thanks!

If your calling for the first time don't have too high of an expectation. The learning curve for predators is pretty steep. But once you call in that first one everything else will seem tame by comparison LOL.

As is suggested in the other post sitting up high in a deer stand over a good travel lane would be the best thing this time of year. The sounds you use can be turkey calls or any distress sound. If a coyote hears it I can promise you they will come. The trick is being where a coyote will hear it.

If you fellows have been seeing them often in your food plots of a morning at this time of year the den is fairly close. The male and the nurse maid are usually back at the den by eight at the latest. Pups are on the ground now and they will take on anything in order to feed or defend them. And a pair of coyote's that have learned how to take turkeys is a major threat to the future of the flocks in your area. You really need to kill both of the hunters and the female if you can. Jimmie

Yes pups are born already or will soon be. Jimmie

Yeah, pups should already be born or right on their way. Matter of fact, a buddy of mine adopted one last year after killing it's mother. He got the o.k. from the game warden of course. The little fella has grown up to be quite a good dog! Fortunately, he never really got the taste of blood, so he is a tame coyote.

He got permission to do this? I didn't think that was lawful?? Somebody posted lately about a tame/pet deer they had, and that seemed to be the response by several on here. Interesting pet to say the least!

Thanks for the comments guys! I planned on staying at our hunting camp tonite and getting up early and waiting in the deerstand at the edge of our foodplot, but because of the rain on its way, i decided not to. I have seen coyotes out during mid-day before so, ill just go sit and wait, and if i do see a yote, ill try to call a little bit. I'll be sure to fill yall in on my results, thanks again!
