43lb Blue Cat on Rattle Trap while bass fishing. I thought I had the new world record bass! [:o)] This was in Lower Otay Lake near San Diego, CA.

the biggest cat i've ever caught was about 6 or 7 lbs, i know a paylake that has a 101 lbs catfish in the lake but it's a caught and release lake, i've seen it, it's huge. believe the smallest cat in that lake is, well they range from 20 lbs and up. the lake next to the caught and release me and 3 buddies went out one morning fished for 6-7 hrs, no lie here guys, we left with 78 catfish all equaling out over 200 lbs of catfish. that was some fishin there. everyone on the lake was pissed. people throwing over us,yelling and asking what we where using. we told them shrimp, but we wasn't. hell the guy that owns the lake didn't even stock the lake that afternoon.lmao

I have caught several 20-30lb flatheads. They really don't fight like the Mississippi humps or the big blues. I have had 10-15 lb humps give me a fight of a lifetime. The thing is they aren't worth eating. If they are over 8 lbs I won't eat em'. Now, you can give me a 80lb flat and he will taste like a two pounder.
