well ive had a fun season but no birds. my dads freinds have been taking me every weekend and spending thier time and trying thier hardest to get me one but no luck. first week on saturday i had a group comin to my right and gobble about 10 yds from me, scared the crap out of me, i couldnt get a shot, so whent they turned i had to shoot throught a bush, hit one but he flew off. the next day i missed a jake that was and other miss :eek:. then that same day we got on a hot gobbler and he came right on top of us out of a thicket, and us. then the next weekend the weather was so bad we saw a couple here and there but no shot at em. last weekend saturday no birds and yesterday we got one gobblin off the roost but he didnt comein then we didnt see anymore. so i took off school today and went with my grandpa. i had a good day, even though i didnt get one. we saw a ton of deer alot of hens and i called some while he was in the truck and got a hen to come to me at 10 yds and she was gettin mad and purrin real loud at my calls, talk about exciting. Despite the bad weather and no gobbler I had a good first season and i hope to hit it again next year.
