View Full Version : Beard Boards
Does anyone know where I can get a board to display my turkey beards? I have found a couple on the net by doing a search but nothing that I really like.

Try Cabelas or Basspro.Think I have even seen some at Walmart.Might even want to try your local taxi.

what I do is take the shotgun hull from the shell I took the bird with, cut the plastic off, pop the primer out of the pocket, place a screw with an eyelet in it, hot glue the beard (after boraxing and drying) with one of the smaller feathers for color and string on rawhide. I've done the same thing with a boar tusk too, doesn't look bad. In fact my cousin who used to run a hunting preserve starting selling these to her clients who came up to shoot boars. Kinda different.

I also cut the plastic off the shell and knock the primer out. I put the spurs on a string and glue it in the shell along with the beard. I have a fan mounted that I did myself so I just put a screw in it whenever I kill a bird and add the new beard to it.
