Busted!! Is it over????

I have busted gobblers more times than I'd care to admit. I was wondering....., when you bust a tom, roosted or on ground, is it over for that bird? Has anyone had any luck calling in busted birds?
Do you usually move on when you've busted the birds for another area?

Depends on how they depart. Did they blast off the ground and sail off? If so, may take a couple hours and a different spot. Simply puck & pop and walk off, then allow them to disappear and give yourself a little time and get up and move, possibly ahead of them and they will have 4gotten. It just depends on how scared they were.

My buddy and I were walking down a logging road toward the truck last Saterday and then all of the sudden there was a hen and a gobbler strutting in the bend of the road. They just walked off and we were able to reset up on them. We were able to call the gobbler back in within 30 yards or so when a yote flushed the birds out. I agree with turk2di it just depends on how they leave. After the yote we never heard from them again.

last year on opening day i went out after work. to a spot on our property that i hadnt hunted often.. setup about 6:30pm-ish.. about 20 min later, i had a tom come in and bust me.. about 10 min after that another one.. i figured i was done for the night and was gonna leave.. and i thought to myself, maybe i'll just sit here and see if any fly up near by.. and to my surprise 2 nice 3 year olds came down the hill (i wasnt calling)
1 saw my decoy and that was that... went home a happy man on opening day..

i guess the point is, anything can happen.. but you probably already knew that :)

I've had them come back the next day, and I've had different ones come in, so don't think your hunt is over in that spot.
