View Full Version : dumb question
Dumb question just cuz I'm curious..............When it lists who else is on the forum at the bottom of the Hunting Forums main page.....occasionally, one or two of the folks I know has a ( + ) next to their name.....what does that mean??? When I ask the people if there is a + next to my name they say no....I don't get it. thanks :)
those are people who are on your buddy list

Next dumb question, how do they get on the buddy list???
from the vBulletin documentation for the forum:
This is a list of users you wish to identify as your Buddies. To add a user to your buddy list, go to your User CP and in the left Nav Panel under Miscellaneous, select [Buddy / Ignore Lists], type the username you wish to add in the Buddy List blank and click [Update Buddy List]
Alternately, you can click on their username in any post and, from the drop-down menu, click the [Add username to Your Buddy List] link.
Buddies will appear in the Users online list with a + sign following their username.
What about the ones with (*) by their name? What does that mean?

Maybe they are on your ignore list? That's what comes up beside your name.:D

It means invisible mode.
Your own should be the only asterisk you see.

There is not one beside mine, but there is one beside yours.

Hmmm... maybe not so invisible..... LOL
I think it only works inside the threads, not on the main one showing who is logged on.
Then again, it could just be because I'm special....:D
I'm pretty sure it has to do with the invisibility setting though, I just removed it by unchecking the invisibility box. Per the text in the user CP though, my name shouldn't have shown up at all. May be something Chad has turned off.
Whatever you did it took the asteric away. The world may never know what it stands for or what it is supposed to do.

I've never seen anyone with an * beside their name.
