Has anybody ever used this for food plots? Did you plant it straight or in a mix with something. Any tips?

Try this site. It has a lot of information on crop choices....fertilizer requirements.....what animals it attracts...etc.

Bird's-foot trefoil seems to persist fairly well in KY, but I've found that it has trouble out-competing weeds in pure stands. I'd plant it with cool or warm season grasses as a mix. Both the grasses and the trefoil legume should last for a several years if not longer. It also does well in poor ground. The link below is from the UK Cooperative Extension where they recommend the variety "Fergus" for KY.
