I'm sure it doesn't have anything to do with all the low-lifes that sneak in and start hunting a week before season or shoot them from the road.
They were anything but quiet in my neck of the woods this morning. I heard at least 15 different birds gobbling their little heads off. I hope that lady luck is on my side in the morning.

They gobbled hard yesterday, not so today. Did hear and see a couple birds, but they pulled the same crap on me they did during the youth season, they can't make up their mind where they want to die.

I took a little walk on the road this morning about 2 hours after sunrise. Two Tom's strutting not far from the house but no gobbles. I checked another place yesterday morning and heard a couple sounding off along with lots of owls. So many owl's in this bottoms it is unreal. I am sure a few of what I heard were hunters trying to locate birds for tomorrow. Sure hope I don't have to spend the morning chaseing hunters off this family property and not chaseing turkeys.

I always observed that the second day after a weather change was when it returned to normal;)

They are fired up again this afternoon. While standing on my front porch a few minutes ago I could hear three tom's gobbling thier heads off at owl hoots either by me or a real owl that chimed in when I started.

They were vocal at my spot today. Had three on the roost gobbling. I then went around to some fields and had three hens and two long beards at 75 yards. One hen had a good beard on her and both long beards had 10 or 11 inch beards. In the the next field over I had two more gobblers firing off. After about 30 minutes the two other long beards came into the field with the long beards I was watching and the fight was on. All four were duking it out. When they chased each other into the woods and I snuck out. Hope the show is this good in the morning. Good luck everyone.
