Got the 935 back from mossberg and it seems to be in good working order. I now have a very sore shoulder. I have tried 3.5 #5 hevi shot, win supreme 3.5 #5 and some Federal flight control 3.5 #5's and can tell little difference in any of them. They are all capable of killing a bird at 45 yards. Anyone else shooting this gun with a different type of shell. BTW I have a primos tightwad choke .690 con.

I nevr have been much on Federals and thats the first results i have heard from the flight controls but i have heard that the Heavyweight stuff is pure crap. I saw the pattern results and Hevi-Shot ruled as usual and then the Winny Supreme HV pattern 3x as better than that new Federal ammo.

I tried all of the ammo you listed, plus Kent brand. The Kent outshot them all. Have to give you a shell or two and see what ya think when I'm down this weekend.

i use the winchester supreme 3 inch 2 oz # 4 shot..
i highly reccomend dropping down to a 3 inch shell.. i was shooting 3 1/2 for a while and they were tearing my shoulder up.. went to a 3inch and it was much better and you can still kill a bird @ 40 yards same as you could with a 3 1/2

The hevi shot was a tight more dense pattern but not sure if the price diff. was worth the few extra shot in the kill zone. I do like shooting the 3.5's even though they kick like a young mule. I just put the .24 inch drop shim in the stock so I don't have to crouch my neck down and press my cheek so hard to the stock. I was getting one heck of a sore cheek bone!!!! Has anyone else had that problem??? Have not shot it since hopefully that did the trick.
